Before the iPad made its debut on the home/mobile electronics front, there were those who were quick to doubt just how useful or popular it would actually be.
Please scroll down to the bottom for a video review, if you are not a reader (some people just like to watch!)
Apple blew those doubters out of the water however, creating a product that quickly found use in not just everyday life but in fields of science ranging from medicine to education.
Now with the iPad 2 making its way onto the scene, many of the old doubters have once again emerged, and from the looks of things are once again going to be shot down.
Thus far, the iPad has not only created a new genre of machine (‘tablets’) it continues to dominate the market for them, outselling all of its competitors combined. According to the average iPad Review video, this is likely to be the case for this next generation one as well.

iPad 2 Review – Upgrades over the iPad
As one could expect the iPad 2 hosts a range of improvements over the first generation model, mainly in its size and weight. This one is both 33% thinner, considerably lighter (only 1.3 pounds) and with its A5 dual core processor, blazingly fast compared to the original.
Additionally, Apple has also somehow managed to accomplish all this without sacrificing the battery life over the original, keeping it at a very respectable 10 hours; easily enough to entertain its users over even the longest of flights. It is also now available in white.

Areas of Improvement Still Needed
While the iPad 2 does offer a range of improvements over the original, a lot of the hardware remains the same. The display, proprietary port and maximum flash storage all remain the same.
Additionally, although Apple did add a camera to the front for video conferencing via FaceTime, the specs on both the front and back cameras are shockingly low. The front camera has a mere .3 Megapixel display, and even the backside one is still only .91 MP.

Pricing
Despite the improvements, the iPad 2 remains at a competitive price. At $499 for the 16MB model and $829 for the 64GB one, it is definitely a luxury item, but one that most people can actually afford nonetheless.

Advantages over other tablets
As with other Apple products, the biggest advantage of the iPad 2 is the fact that along with all of your other Apple products, it can be synced with your home PC. If you also have an iPhone this makes it particularly useful, as you will always have everything, you saved on one conveniently available on the other.
Beyond that, the fact that it has the exact same user interface as the iPhone also makes it that much more attractive to those who already know how to use it.
While the iPad 2 is certainly not a perfect machine, and still has room for improvement in certain areas, it is quite good, and an improvement over the already-great original in every way.
Apple may have some competition from other tablet makers in the upcoming years, but for the time being, the average iPad 2 review video certainly makes it seem as though they have nothing to worry about.
